This year, I’ve embarked on an incredible journey—one that will test my endurance, challenge my limits, and most importantly, support a cause that’s very close to my heart. In 2025, I’m walking 500km across ten Ultra Challenge events to raise funds for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

These events will take me across some of the most breathtaking landscapes in England and Wales—from the rugged trails of the Lake District to the sweeping coastlines of the Gower Peninsula. Each challenge is more than a marathon in distance, traversing tough terrain and offering stunning views that serve as both motivation and reward.

So far, I’ve completed 2 out of the 10 events. The first was a 50km trek around Bath and its surrounding valleys—a beautiful but demanding introduction. The second, and supposedly the toughest of the lot, was along the Jurassic Coast between Corfe Castle and Weymouth. The terrain was incredibly rough, with the highest elevation gain of all ten events. At one point, the incline was so steep it required hands and feet to climb—a true test of perseverance.

There are still 8 events to go, and I’m excited (and slightly nervous) about what’s ahead. I’ll be updating this journal as I progress through each challenge.

This journey isn’t just about the distance—it’s about making a difference. EACH provides compassionate, specialist care for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk, and Suffolk. Their support extends from hospices—Milton, The Treehouse, and The Nook—to the homes and hospitals where families need them most. Their work is only possible through the generosity of others, and that’s why I’ve committed to raising a minimum of £5,000—£10 for every kilometre I walk.

Every donation, no matter the size, brings me closer to that goal and helps ensure that EACH can continue offering vital services to families during their most difficult moments.
